British Gaskets Ltd provides a comprehensive range of materials for processing into Gaskets and Rubber Moulded components.

Gasket Materials

The manufacture on high temperature Mica laminated materials are manufactured under tight controls at our Sudbury Manufacturing site. We also offer our own range on Non-Asbestos gasket materials that are formulated to the latest requirements. High quality compressed sheets for gaskets made of mineral fibre, aramide and dispersed inorganic loads mixed in a matrix of type SBR rubber.

This material has got exceptional flexibility and behaviour on cutting what add to its characteristic of under-control swelling in oils making a material with good suitability for the automotive industry and machinery construction for general use. It has good resistance to compression, excellent adaptability and low gas permeability.

Rubber Materials

Over the last 80 years British Gaskets Ltd have developed over 600 compound formulations and manufactured components in all the common thermoset rubbers such as SBR, Neoprene, EPDM, Natural, and Nitrile; also in highly specialised polymers.

Many of these materials are produced with in the group using bespoke equipment: These include: K4 internal mixer, mill room & test laboratory; injection and compression presses from 20 tonnes to 500 tonnes capacity; and composite bonding of rubber to metal, plastics and fabrics.

British Gaskets Limited have developed a seal to be used on the Solar Orbiter that is due to fly closer to the sun than any previous craft has ever been. Take a closer look by clicking this link: http://>http://www.stfc.ac.uk/research/astronomy-and-space-science/solar-orbiter/

High Temperature Materials

Rubber Sheeting and Compound

Cork

Graphite: Our graphite products are manufactured using the highest quality materials. Sheeting is available in different formats, Plain (foil), with steel, stainless steel or nickel reinforcement layers, either plain or tanged. We also produce laminates with metal covers on top and bottom surfaces, which are used in some of the most extreme conditions a flat sealing material can be expected to perform in.

Gold: A high temperature material manufactured from the highest quality Mica flake, bonded together with Silicon resin and reinforced with tanged stainless steel. Suitable for use in hot dry gas installations, it is the perfect material for turbines, exhaust manifolds, turbo chargers and air heat exchanger applications.

Mastite Rubber products include all of the standard, and many of the non-standard, elastomeric materials produced today.

Our Moulding and Compounding manufacture facility includes a comprehensive range of equipment for processing materials and moulding rubber components. These include: K4 internal mixer, mill room & test laboratory; injection and compression presses from 20 tonnes to 500 tonnes capacity; and composite bonding of rubber to metal, plastics and fabrics. Over the last 40 years we have developed over 600 compound formulations and manufactured components in all the common thermoset rubbers such as SBR, Neoprene, EPDM, Natural, and Nitrile

Harvested from the Cork tree, our supplies of this material come mostly from the western Mediterranean area. Although the raw material is replenished. (as the tree continues to grow another layer of cork bark after the harvest), the management of this truly natural product used since the Roman times, has to be monitored very closely. Some modern alternatives (such as moulded plastic stoppers now used in some wine), have been introduced – but as we enter into the 21st Century, cork is still an important commodity for many industries world-wide.

NASB

British Gaskets NASB brand of of materials include Non-Asbestos gasket material, Graphite, PTFE, Mica and Mica laminate.
